The Story
Circenn Brodie has lived for hundreds of years. He was slipped a potion without his knowledge. He lives a solitary life. He is the sworn protector of Fae artifacts. He lost one artifact and placed a curse on it to bring it back to him once a person touches the flask. Circenn didn't expect the person to come with it or the flask to go missing for years. 700 years later Lisa finds the flask and is whisked to the past. Circenn swore to kill the flask bringer, but he cannot kill an innocent woman. Lisa took care of her mother who has cancer, now she is stuck in the past who will look after her mother?

Thoughts (spoilers below)
This book is very fast paced. The story and plots are interesting and keep my attention. I really liked all the characters! I liked Circenn and his complicated history. Circenn and Lisa dance around each other, when they finally fall in love Lisa is whisked away. When they get back together it ends very abruptly. That is my only complaint. Adam is back from the first one, but this time he isn't out to destroy. This is another great addition to the highlander series, I just wished there was more time with circenn and lisa in love.

ENJOYABLE AS AN AUDIO--- - SJ -
This series was not one that I enjoyed sitting down to read (didn't consume my attention) but was perfect to listen to while I did something else thanks to the entertaining talent of the narrator, Phil Gigante. I found this particular book better than the previous two (Beyond The Highland Mist/To Tame A Highland Warrior) because it did not have the Constant Bickering between the hero/heroine that weighed the other two down.

Annoying - A. Lee -
I loved the first two but this Claire was so annoying. Yes she has went through hardships and made sacrifices but when she is back in time she is selfish. Just because she is curious she continues to get herself into trouble. And when the hero is trying to ride off to war, she delays him because she wants answers even though he has many warriors waiting on him. I don't like her. And I don't believe how they fell in love.

The entirety of this series (thus far) has been as the review title states, well written & well researched. Far and few are times that I am absolutely unable to put a book down, but this book was glued to my hands from the first page to the last.
The story has all the makings of a fantastic fairytale...romance, action, suspense and intrigue all wrapped up in a tall, dark, brooding, well-defined package. If one is to lose themselves temporarily in the alternate world of a good book...this is it.
