The Elusive Bride (The Black Cobra Quartet) Review

I loved this book just like the other 2 in the series (just finished the third) and can't wait for the fourth. Don't know why others didn't like it as much but I sure did and will be rereading the whole series when the fourth book comes out in November.

New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Laurens takes a bold turn in her exciting new series.

He's focused on his mission, then sees a lady he never dreamed he'd see again—with an assassin on her heels.

She secretly followed him, unaware her path is deadly—or that she'll join him to battle a treacherous foe.

Through ever-present peril, through passion, desire, and ecstasy, they race to reach England—and their destiny.

1st SL book that i couldn't finish :( - Nathalie Corona -
I LOVE Stephanie Laurens i really do but for some reason i couldn't finish this book. I don't know if had something to do with the characters spending almost half of the time on a ship or the heroin writing in her dairy but i just couldn't finish it. I rather read the Cynster books and the Bastion Club again

Not A Quick Read - V. Fredrick - NYC suburbs
I can usually read a book in a day. Sometimes a good book will catch hold and I will forgo sleep to see how it ends. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE BOOKS. the Black Cobra Series is not what I expected. It is a great premise and it was nice to find a heroine that was not too stupid to see a potential husband. But it is so bogged down in the travel details and the some interesting shipboard fight sequences that it loses touch with reality. A well born young lady openly sharing a room with a male companion for extended journey seems hard to swallow. I did like seeing old friends from past books. Sometimes the first book in a series is harder because of the time it takes setting up the scenario so I can only hope that the forthcoming books are better paced.

3 1/2 stars - Not Telling -
I rather liked the story of the conquest for love between Gareth and Emily. But the rest of it was just boring. Too wordy and detailed. Other than that, I think it was really okay.
