Tempt Me at Twilight (Hathaways, Book 3) Review

I have read all 5 in this series of the Hathaway's set in mid 19th century England: Mine Till Midnight, Seduce Me At Sunrise, Tempt Me At Twilight, Married by Morning, and Love in the Afternoon. They are the stories of the romances of the Hathaway siblings...all but one are females. This is the 3rd and it's the story of Poppy Hathaway and wealthy, reclusive and determined hotelier Harry Rutledge. He wants Poppy and he is determined to have her even if he has to ruin her reputation to get her. I had a lot of sympathy for Poppy and was very disturbed by Harry for part of the story. I especially liked that Poppy did not give in to him once they were married and that revenge of sorts softened me to Harry. The background of an exclusive and bustling hotel in mid 19th century London was also interesting. I liked this one and appreciated how Kleypas kept the family history going.

another great Lisa Kleypas book - Ma Magdalena Lozano -
This is the 3rd book in the Hathaway series. This is Poppy's story. You think Poppy is going to be with one person but she ends up with someone she would not have normally have chosen for herself. Once you get to know Harry Rutledge, you find out that he needs Poppy in his life. This is a very good book.

I enjoyed the series of books very much and reading the stories of each of the family members.

Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas is a fun, light read. If you've read Kleypas before you'll find lots of familiar characters in this tale of love and betrayal. There's enough conflict and suspense to keep it interesting and some of the hotel staff's dialogue is hilarious. She has a large, loving family that includes Gypsies and an English Lord. He has no family but the staff of his luxurious hotel loves him like a family. She wants a husband who will provide a quiet country life. His life is busy and hectic and he likes it that way. He's used to getting what he wants and he wants her. She knows what she wants and isn't about to settle for less. Both of them are intelligent, stubborn and determined, which gives rise to both humor and passion.
